The seed library is back refreshed and revamped at the Greater Victoria Public Library! In our redesign, we’ve listened to your feedback and implemented a few changes based on our own capacity, so that the Seed Library at the Broughton Branch of the Greater Victoria Library can best serve the community for many years to come!
We continue to work with the wonderful staff at the Greater Victoria Public Library for this project.

For volunteer opportunities, please check our Gleaning Hub – we will be posting seed sorting volunteer dates there – or sign up for our newsletter!
Seed libraries collect and distribute a variety of seeds. By saving and sharing, we protect and promote biodiversity in our region, develop a regionally adapted seed stock, and ensure seeds can profit everyone.
The seed library at the Broughton Branch will also provide free educational resources about seed saving and gardening!

Do you have seeds you’d like to donate? Send them our way! Anyone can give seeds to the seed library. They can be dropped off at the LifeCycles office, or at our seed drop boxes located in each library branch across Greater Victoria.
Seed is the foundation of every food system. Our seed library seeks to give light and voice to the wisdom of seed. Working together, we are keeping local climate adapted seed in the people’s hands.
