Workshop: Winter Vegetable Gardening

In this workshop we will discuss many of the cultivated vegetables commonly grown on southern Vancouver Island for harvest through the fall, winter and/or spring months. General tips for planning, planting and maintaining a winter garden will be presented, alongside tips for growing specific crops. The workshop will be geared towards those getting started with winter gardening in our region, though will also aim to provide some new ideas and reminders for more seasoned gardeners.

This workshop will be facilitated by Matthew Kemshaw. Matthew is a food and garden educator who specializes in school gardens and food programs. Matthew has been growing and teaching people about winter vegetables for two decades.
