Volunteer at Welland Orchard

We provide hands-on education to volunteers interested in helping to care for and restore this unique heritage orchard. Everyone is welcome, no previous experience or orientation is required.

General Volunteer

Volunteers can help with mulching, weeding, harvesting, windfall pickup, pest management, art and signage projects, and general orchard care. No orientation required, just sign up on Gleaning Hub for what fits your schedule and show up.

Sign up on the portal

Create an account, then select “View All Shifts” or Join shifts from the top menu.

Pick Your Shift

Choose “Welland Orchard Volunteer” from the shift type, then pick a time that works for you.

Start volunteering

Once you’re registered, come to the orchard on the day of your shift.

Pruning Apprenticeship

Join us for this free skill-building and volunteer opportunity that gives participants the opportunity to develop a solid theoretical understanding of fruit tree pruning, as well as the chance to bring that knowledge into practice while helping with pruning at Welland Orchard.
