Go Greenways!

Can you imagine Victoria as a city full of vibrant neighbourhood villages with green streets, safe walkways and paths, bike lanes, community art, gardens and fruit trees? LifeCycles can. We are working with neighborhoods to turn this vision into reality through the Go Greenways project. Greenways are transport routes and accompanying "green" infrastructure (gardens, trees, parks!) for light, non-motorized transport. GroundWorks is supporting the creation of greenways in Greater Victoria.

LifeCycles played a leading role in collecting and presenting information in preparation for the City of Victoria's greenway planning, including existing bike and pedestrian route use in the City. We've also worked with neighbourhood organizations on promoting local-level greening along greenway routes. Go Greenways supports the City of Victoria's Greenways Plan.

In support of a new Greenways Plan, the City of Victoria needed an assessment of what routes residents of the city were using for non-motorized transport. In carrying out this assessment, LifeCycles provided both technical expertise and community involvement and activation. Read the assessment here
